Director of Music    

Salary commensurate with experience

Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Director of Music.

At Varndean we believe that arts education is a right more than a luxury. Our ambition is that every student in key stage 3 has access to and tuition in a musical instrument supporting excellent musical progression.  You will have had significant experience in whole school music provision and curriculum excellence.

Our aspirations are high and your entrepreneurial musical skills, drive and leadership will be evident in the high quality work that you have undertaken with young people.

The closing date is 7am on Monday, October 13th and the interviews are currently scheduled for the week beginning Monday, October 20th.

The busy and productive English department is at the heart of the school’s curriculum. The new appointee will be given extensive opportunities to assist the Head of English as she sets about fulfilling the school’s ambitious academic agenda.

Support Staff Vacancies

Support Staff Application Form 

Faculty & Department Assistant (Cover Supervisor)

Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Faculty & Department Assistant (Cover Supervisor). The successful applicant would be expected to provide cover supervision for absent staff across a number of departments and provide administrative support when such cover is not required.

The three subjects within the area are:

  • Textiles
  • Food Technology
  • Resistant Materials

The FDAs are a busy and productive team within the School who support our vibrant teams of teaching staff. The successful applicant would be expected to provide an appropriate level of support in an expansive, skilled and dynamic area of the curriculum.

Voluntary Teaching Assistant Agreement (general)

Voluntary Teaching Assistants

Varndean School requires enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Voluntary Teaching Assistants. The successful applicants would be expected to provide in-class support to students with a range of special educational needs.

The Individual Learning Support area is a busy and productive part of the School and has a vibrant team of experienced leaders and support staff. The successful applicants would be expected to provide an appropriate level of support in an expansive, skilled and dynamic area of the curriculum.

This is a non-salaried post suitable for those wanting experience before developing a career in teaching & learning support in schools.
