Lead Professional for English

The busy and productive English department is at the heart of the school’s curriculum. The new appointee will be given extensive opportunities to assist the Head of English as she sets about fulfilling the school’s ambitious academic agenda.

School Librarian

Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding School Librarian for The Reading Room (school library). Excellent library skills and a passion for literacy are required.

The Reading Room is a busy and productive area that requires someone with the flexibility to deal with normal library routines at one moment; support the school’s literacy programme at another and organise eye-catching displays as a third string to their bow.

The closing date is 7am on Monday, April 13th and the interviews are currently scheduled for later that week. The start date is expected to be May 1st.

Salary Range: NJC Grade 5. The post is full-time, term-time only and the actual salary range will be £17137-£18794 per annum. Please see the advert and job description for full details.

Varndean School requires enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Voluntary Teaching Assistants. The successful applicants would be expected to provide in-class support to students with a range of special educational needs.

The Individual Learning Support area is a busy and productive part of the School and has a vibrant team of experienced leaders and support staff. The successful applicants would be expected to provide an appropriate level of support in an expansive, skilled and dynamic area of the curriculum.

This is a non-salaried post suitable for those wanting experience before developing a career in teaching & learning support in schools.

Chef Supervisor

Caterlink are the UK’s leading contract caterer to schools and colleges providing fresh healthy foods to over 200,000 customers a week.

Our “Fresh Food Policy” is the foundation of our success and growth in the market coupled with a desire to truly deliver on the promises we make to our clients and support our site based teams.

We are now seeking to recruit a talented and ambitious individual to join our team at Varndean School, Brighton as Chef Supervisor.  The successful applicant will have a proven record and be able to demonstrate excellent catering, team leading, training and customer service skills.

The role will include cooking, efficient record keeping, cash handling and serving customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner.

The role is Monday to Friday.  The position is for 35 hours a week, term time only, Monday to Friday.  £12.50/hour.

You will be enthusiastic, flexible, have a neat and tidy appearance and possess strong communication skills.
