A treat for the senses at Varndean School's Open House.
Ceramics, paintings, textiles, graphics and resistant materials all came together in Varndean School's Artists Open House exhibition on Saturday 20th May 2017. Final exam pieces and supporting work in sketch books and folders were appreciatively poured over by visitors exploring the Fiveways trail of Brighton's AOH festival.
Excellent and an inspiration.

Absolutely love the lamp made by Finn Murnaghan-Earley. He should sell them!
So much talent in one room! Fantastic creativity, vision and confidence.
As well as the beautiful artwork there were also music and drama performances to watch along with tasty treats to devour in the parent and student run cafe. VCert Food Preparation and Nutrition students sold homemade soups with their own freshly bread and sausage rolls.
The ceramics blew my mind!! My children were sooooo inspired.
Months of hard work and dedication has gone into these pieces and with this being the first exhibition of their work for many students, it's certainly one to remember and be proud of.
Love all the different art. Individual. How can it be graded?
Every year the standard keeps getting higher. Very proud of all the Varndean students who have worked so hard.

So proud of all the #gcseart students @VarndeanSchool on results day. What a fantastic bunch you are. All the best in your future creative endeavours. We'll miss you!
Art is a subject that can involve all areas of study and critically encourages children to have the confidence to air their original voices and thoughts. Why are children forced to choose between the arts? The Ebacc must go. https://t.co/Wu80MNgPnk
