Varndean Building Works
This page will hold all the up-to-date information and photographs of our ongoing extension and building works.
Many of us were in awe of the construction team as they worked to complete the scaffolding over the canteen, despite the high winds and driving rain. The structure is very high and is a key part of the preparations for taking the roof off the current canteen so they can add a first floor extension. This will increase dining capacity and add further classrooms into the roof space. Though this will affect the queueing system, it will not affect the food on offer at the canteen for the summer term and these changes will be explained to students shortly.
The other work to start early is the relocation and designing of reception which will move adjacent to the Balfour Road entrance in what is now D34. This work will be accompanied by new gates and much needed security fencing and should be ready in plenty of time for September opening.
