Local primary pupils explore the science labs during a challenge day at Varndean School.
On Thursday 26th November a group of able, gifted and talented pupils from Downs Junior, Elm Grove, St Luke's and Balfour Primary Schools spent a day at Varndean working on science, mathematics and philosophy. The day was designed to build on the strong links we have with primary schools in the city and to provide an opportunity for able and talented children within the local community to access a range of activities that stretch and challenge them in an environment that is new, exciting and engaging for them.
All the children said they had a fantastic day. The pitch of the subjects covered seems to be really good with a great mix of challenge and fun. Highlights seem to be using a bunsen burner and getting a chocolate brownie for lunch! Balfour Primary School
Our children had a fantastic day and came back buzzing about it. They particularly loved the science finger printing and winning the maths challenge! Downs Junior School
