A look at what we do at school to help students stay safer online.
As part of the Safer Internet Day 2016 celebrations this year, we partnered with EE to run 3 online safety workshops on Tuesday 9th February for parents. During these workshops, we discussed at length the digital parenting challenges we face, what we are doing at Varndean School to support parents and hear what other parents are doing. We also looked at how we can make certain technologies safer through things like parental controls and blocking wi-fi access to some websites / devices after a certain time.
Please see the workshop presentation which includes some of the films shown at the workshops.
You can also download a copy of EE's Advice for Parents booklet which was given out at the workshops.

EE's Digital Living Space also has tips for a happier digital society.
This week during assemblies we have been looking at online safety and the role of technology in child sexual exploitation. A new online safety video competition was also launched - you can watch the winning film below, made by a student in Year 7 at the time.
You can download a copy of the presentation which again contains important messages and films.
