Head students from across the city work together.
Varndean School hosted the first Brighton and Hove Head Student Conference on Friday 4th March 2016. An idea borne and realised by Varndean Student Headteacher and Youth Mayor for the city, Wednesday Croft, the event sought to share knowledge and best practice amongst peers.
Uniting students in similar roles from across the city’s schools, the event saw them working together on student voice, wellbeing, equality and sustainability in our schools, and featured guest speaker Caroline Lucas, Green MP for Brighton Pavilion. Caroline Lucas talked to the students about the importance of listening in leadership and how coming together is important to mobilise and empower young voices.
The students were excited to be working together, with talk of next year’s conference already underway!
