Six of our current Year 11 students became the second successful group to complete and pass the level 2 qualification in Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE), which is part of the ASDAN suite of qualifications.
The course is a unique qualification that accredits progress as the courses advances to recognise each student’s achievement. Throughout the course students develop a wide range of transferable skills that they have used in a variety of subjects.
The students were accessed on a total of six skill units:
- Working with others
- Improving their own learning and performance
- Problem solving
- Carrying out research
- Planning and giving an oral presentation.
Students choose a variety of modules and challenges that provided the evidence they needed to meet the level 2 criteria for the six skills.
To show “improving their own learning and performance” the students completed an 8 week Boxercise course. In passing this course students gained the Bronze award in Boxercise.
Students also were successful in gaining the qualification entry level award in Workplace Hazard Awareness.
