Recognising challenge and pride in former students.
Former students, Cody , Marco , Tristan , Amy , Izzy , Habiba , Keni and Nelly have been recognised for their outstanding effort, achievement and commitment to their studies whilst at Varndean School. They each received a proud welcome as they returned to the school to be part of assembly. During the assemblies they were presented with a cheque to further their education and to be spent in a way they feel will benefit their future.
Suzanne Denyer Award
This year the award was split three ways between three amazing former students.
Habiba was a guest in the assembly on Monday 19th October. Her family watched as she received the cheque, and looked extremely proud and joyful. Thanks to her hard work and growth mindset whilst at Varndean School Halima has received the Susan Denyer Award for her amazing progress.
Keni was the other student to be recognised and awarded the Susan Denyer Award, unfortunately she couldn't make it to the assembly but her and her family were extremely proud.
Nelly joined the assembly on Monday 19th and she was very happy to have been nominated.
The £1000 annual award was created as part of the legacy of ex-student Suzanne Denyer who left Varndean to pursue a successful career in the Police Force. She was keen to recognise students who matched her determination and commitment to hard work and achieving their full potential.
Varndean Development Award
Cody , Marco and Tristan are this years development award winners. They all joined the assembly and their families watched as they received their cheques.
We wish current winners, and previous winners, and of course all students every success with their future education and hope through continuing to challenge themselves they have many more proud moments.
