Trans Day of Visibility
On Monday during Learning for Life, as part of our whole school approach to equality and anti-bullying we are marking Trans Day of Visibility. Trans Day of Visibility is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments and victories of trans & gender non-conforming people across the world while raising awareness of the work that is still needed. We know from research from Stonewall that trans young people face significant prejudice and that this impacts on their health and wellbeing.
Our focus will be on encouraging respect and showing respect by using names and pronouns correctly. Stonewall have written a useful article about trans identities which you may be interested to read.
