Varndean students have reached the Sussex final of the Create and Cook Competition.
We are delighted to announce that we are in the 2019 Create & Cook final! Dylan Baignet-Milton and Freddie Moylett have shown creativity and passion in their cooking and have made it to the final. With a range of skills and ideas under their belts the students set out to create their own seasonal menu using as many local ingredients as possible.
Menu : High Weald ricotta and spinach ravioli with a sage butter sauce. Pulborough heritage tomato and watercress salad; Royal Pavilion choux with Montezuma chocolate, berries and coulis.
The competition was set up to encourage young cooks to discover their local food and to develop the next generation's cooking skills.
Dylan and Freddie have done so well and we are super proud of what they have achieved so far. We wish them the best of luck in the final!

For #WomensHistoryMonth, our Year 8s have been having lessons on notable women in history and the story of how women got the vote in England. Equality, kindness and standing up for what's right continues to play a large part of Varndean's ethos. https://t.co/dMsV2Hyy6F
