MRS MAGGIE CORBIN
We were very sad to hear of the death of Mrs Corbin (Miss Walker) earlier this month at the age of 95. She died at a nursing home in Harrogate, having moved there to be nearer her sister after the death of her husband, Harold Corbin.
She taught Art at Varndean from 1949 until her retirement in 1980 and was Head of Department. Many will remember her beautiful italic handwriting, a skill she also taught to students, as well as her contribution to the production of the annual Varndean Chronicle.
Varndean would like to send the school's sympathy to her sister.
A big well done from the whole of #TeamVarndean to Milo for his brilliant monologue which he wrote and performed himself! Ms Bartley and @LennoxVarndean are so proud! https://t.co/VEjxZwWZco
