Recognising challenge and pride in former students.
Former students, Stephen Ford, Natalia Miernik and Julija Novikova, have been recognised for their outstanding effort, achievement and commitment to their studies whilst at Varndean School. They each received a proud welcome as they returned to the assembly of their former school, Ellis along with a cheque to support their further education. Their families were also in the audience to share in the pride of their achievements.
Varndean Development Award
Stephen Ford was a guest in the Ellis assembly on Thursday 20th October. Thanks to his hard work and growth mindset whilst at Varndean School Stephen has received the Varndean Development Award for his amazing progress. He plans to study medicine and will be using his award to purchase a laptop to help whilst completing his current A’Levels at BHASVIC and future medical degree.
Suzanne Denyer Award
Two good! This year Varndean School was honoured to bestow the Suzanne Denyer award to two former students, who exceeded expectations due to their dedication and commitment to school life. Both Natalia and Julija were delighted to receive the award today.
The £1000 annual award was created as part of the legacy of ex-student Suzanne Denyer who left Varndean to pursue a successful career in the Police Force. She was keen to recognise students who matched her determination and commitment to hard work and achieving their full potential.
Both students are now studying at Varndean College and will put their share of the award money towards their future studies.
We wish all three students every success with their future education and hope through continuing to challenge themselves they have many more proud moments.
