Year 7s showcased their in-class instrument learning.
Music on the Map was a wonderful celebration of our younger students’ musical talents in preparation for the Spring Music Celebration in the evening on Tuesday 4th April.
The hall looked beautiful as the spot lights shone down on the children with their instruments, creating a real atmosphere to compliment the music. A grand piano was the central piece with the musicians sat grouped by instrument around the hall.
The students were clearly enthusiastic and excited to show off their music skills and as always when they played were a credit to our fantastic music department. It began with a cello performance and then pieces played by the flutes accompanied by the piano, violins and then on to the brass section. They then came together for a final song, which they all performed beautifully.
It was lovely to see the parents enjoying the show and the children so immersed in their music. Here at Varndean School the students are very lucky to have the opportunity to benefit from being taught by such hard working, talented and dedicated music teachers. It was really evident that in the two terms these students have been here their musical talents have blossomed and I am sure we will continue to see great things from them in the future.
