On 22nd June 2015, more than 200 people joined the High Sheriff of East Sussex, Mrs Juliet Smith and The Rotary Club of Brighton at the presentation of the Annual Rotary Club of Brighton’s Young Citizens’ Award Ceremony.
84 Students from local secondary schools [including Varndean School] and academies were presented with their Gold, Silver or Bronze certificate which are given for exceptional service to their local communities. The grade of certificate reflects the number of hours of voluntary service and activities range from assisting with sports teaching to volunteering in care homes and charities. All the students have put in effort well above the expected norm and richly deserve the accolades they have received.
