Greenpower Trust Car
What an incredible first time at Goodwood races on Sunday 10th June with Greenpower trust! After months of building and trialling the car, the team finally took to the track for the final race. Everyone's efforts paid off and it showed in the end result, 43rd out of 80, that's not bad for a first entry, many of the other schools had raced in previous years and we did still come first out of new schools that entered this year.
To end and bring together an incredible day, an awards ceremony was hosted and the team didn't leave empty handed, they scooped up the prize of IET engineering award for the use of recycled milk bottle lids and wheelie bins on the car. With everyone already on a high the award was the icing on the cake, we couldn't be any prouder of the team and what they have achieved from start to finish.
Everyone had a truly amazing time during the whole process and we are hugely thankful for all the sponsors we received, we wouldn't have been able to do it without the support.
'' As we arrived we were surprised by the amount of people that turned up. During the car check we were nervous that we were not going to pass but found fun in making every one jump with our horn! After a slow start the races finally started. Despite coming low in the rankings our team should have got a 10/10 for enthusiasm, I think we have all learnt that we need better aerodynamics. I am really hoping to be part of this project next year ''
