Varndean students perform at Brighton University to showcase boys' dance.
Thank you to the students who really did themselves and our school proud, thanks too to Brighton University. Also many thanks for the wonderful feedback sent in by both the university and the parents of the performers.
Thank you...for bringing your dancers to perform at the university. I thought the boys were a joy to watch; they had such enthusiasm, energy and commitment in their performance it had a big impact on our students. It is so important for our students to see good work like this from boys, it sends such a strong message to them. Fiona Smith, Brighton University
Since joining boys' dance, [my son] has really grown in confidence in himself and in who he is. He felt really nervous about joining and having to perform but took it in his stride and has really flourished. He thoroughly enjoyed performing in Eastbourne and felt very proud of himself and his boys' dance group. Thanks for all the effort you put into it.
[My son] really enjoyed the experience. He says that he learnt new styles of dance and was inspired by the ones that he watched. He now wants to take GCSE dance.
[One of the boys] enjoyed the trip to Eastbourne, loved the adventure. He’s loved meeting new friends and it’s made him want to get involved with the boys dance group.
Thank you. From my point of view I was delighted that [my son] was encouraged to get involved in something creative and challenging outside his usual comfort zone, and he told me that it was 'fun and a great new experience.' Thanks again for arranging such a positive activity.
He thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I must say I am really looking forward to seeing the performance in December.
