A phenomenal achievement for Year 11 Varndean Student Regan
Since taking up kickboxing at age 11, Varndean student Regan has gone from strength to strength, with her latest win seeing her crowned the European Champion. This is her first win at these championships, but with several titles under her (ahem) belt already for kick-boxing alone, she is certainly no stranger to success. Pictured here with her belts for 2 x English Championships, the British Championships, Five Nations and the newest belt for the European Championships, Regan is showing no sign of slowing down. Next up: the World Championships on 12th August.
Regan's martial arts career began at the age of 5 with karate. She quickly progressed, gaining her black belt by the age of 10. Since then Regan has shifted her focus to kickboxing and boxing, training an impressive four times a week with local club Kicks Martial Arts. Regan is making great headway with boxing too, and will be part of the England team from September.
Headteacher Shelley Baker said: 'We are so proud of Regan and her fantastic achievements which demonstrate perfectly how our values of #challenge and #pride can be achieved outside of the classroom too!'
