Year 7 performance as part of Varndean's Specialist Schools programme.
This week we were delighted to watch our Year 7 students from the Specialist School of Expression perform their dance piece to the rest of the year group. The students involved have thoroughly embraced the ethos of the Specialist School, and it was fantastic to see this shining through in their performance.
We asked a couple of them about their experience:
Doing dance Specialist School is really exciting because you get to become one whole group, you can also freestyle or come up with your own ideas. When we dance, we make sure everyone understands what we are doing and that everyone is included. Our dance group is a safe place where everyone can have an opinion, that's why I enjoy dance Specialist School. Nureeza
I've had a lot of fun doing dance and it being about COP-26 means that we're doing it for a reason. It's also great because I've made a lot of new friends. I felt very happy performing in front of my friends and other Year 7 students. Since doing dance I can look and see if I can do it in any other ways possible. Charlie
