A look at our chosen charities and what's been happening already.
A huge total of £6021.76 was raised by students at Varndean School during 2014-2015.
This year students from each school have chosen the following charities:
Angelou - Bethany's Wish
Russell - Daisy's Dream
Turing - Action Aid, focusing on children in Myanmar
Ellis - British Heart Foundation
We have already made a fantastic start with the Ellis Extravaganza raising an impressive £665, a Turing Christmas Fair with uniquely designed Christmas cards, hand made Christmas gifts and home baked festive treats, Russell School have an end of term raffle, and ahead of their plans for the New Year Angelou School are sponsoring Ms Robins to come dressed as an elf on the last day of term.
Hot off the press: congratulations to everyone involved in the Turing Christmas Fair on 14th and 15th December - they raised £196.72! A fantastic start to this years fund raising.
Friday 18th December is a non-uniform day with all money raised going to the four charities. Students will also shortly be given their first opportunity to convert achievement points to cash to donate to their charity.
We wish you all a safe and relaxing half term. https://t.co/Mhb8yTr877

It's always an emotional time having our year 11 leavers assembly. We have watched them grow in to young adults and it's nearly time for them to go on a new journey. They have learned so much, and taught us so much! It's been great. https://t.co/qZEeGpVkdG
