Sweeney Todd School Production 2019
Varndean school is thrilled to present our 2019 production, Sweeney Todd, a story about bloodthirsty revenge and crafty corpse disposal. The tale became a staple of Victorian melodrama and London urban legend, and has been retold many times since, and now it’s our turn! The show will play over 3 nights celebrating our extremely talented students as they bring to life the story of Todd, a barber who dispatches his victims by their throats as they sit in his barber chair. His victims are duly dispatched into the basement of his shop, generally causing them to break their necks or skulls. In case they are alive, Todd goes to the basement and "polishes them off" . With a cast, crew and band numbering over 100 students we look forward to showcasing their wonderful talents and hope you will be able to join us for a captivating performance, with a live orchestra, the show is set to be spectacular. Tickets available to purchase from reception during break and lunch hours. |
